• Yes, as long as you're close enough to the broadcaster's towers to receive the over-the-air digital signals. It will NOT decode a cable feed - it's only for digital OTA, and requires an antenna be hooked up to receive the OTA signals.

• Not sure but I don’t think so. I bought it and bought an antenna to tune in broadcast TV channels. Many of the new Smart TVs no longer have a built in tuner for broadcast TV. I don’t subscribe to cable so I can’t test it for that.

• No, you cannot use this converter box in place of the cable box. This converter box is intended for the old tv; analog, to be change to digital in that way it can be use wirh today broadcast.
