“I need a tuner that you can keep past scans, and scan for new stations with the antenna pointing in several directions, but nobody seems to know that this could be an option and don't report it.”

Once you scan for channels from your TV antenna it automatically stores on DVR , unless you scan it again it will store another sets of channels.
