“Will this device allow one to watch HDTV sent signals on a tv from my cable provider. Currently some channels are not viewable and they want to rent a $7 per month hdtv receiver. If not what products do you have to accomplish receiving the hdtv signal.”

No...this box will not process cable tv signals... only OTA - over the air TV signals received via external antenna...
