“I am having trouble getting the RF input to pick up signal. We are connecting to a cable service via my mom's nursing home. The cable tightens over the connector on the box but over 1/4" is still exposed. Anyone have a problem with their RF connecting?”

The box only picks up OTA (Over The Air) broadcast channels. YOu need either an indoor or outdoor antenna. As for the 1/4" left on the rf connector, that's about normal.
