It should work with almost any good TV antenna. In the Boston area, most of the stations I like or in the UHF range. So a good UHF antenna works fine for me. As to the storage system, it uses a USB connection, so a "thumb-drive" or USB external disk will work. However, be sure to use a device with a high write speed. I first tried the PNY 16gb thumb drives, and they are not fast enough to keep up with the data coming in. The result is a "mosaic" playback, and out of sync audio/video. When I switched to a SanDisk thumb drive, the recordings are great.
