“Can I start the machine, then add liquid detergent, then the clothes? I’m wary of pouring in detergent and tossing clothes on top of it before the machine starts filling with water.”

I let some water fill in the washer, then I press the start button to pause it, I then lift up the lid and pour my soap in and then put my clothes in and close the lid, and press the start button again and the washer continues filling up.
