Wash your clothes with this Amana top-load washer. The dual-action agitator rolls clothes throughout the entire wash basket while the 680 rpm spin cycle removes water from clothing to dry them faster, and the deep water wash option adds more water during the rinsing cycle. The Amana top-load washer has a porcelain tub to stop clothes from snagging.
Q: Where do you put fabric softener?
A: You have to wait until the washer gets to the "final rinse" cycle, open the lid, and pour the fabric softener into the tub. Very inconvenient because you have to wait around & figure out when it is in the final rinse. The cycle light only tells you it is in the rinse cycle, and I don't know how to tell if it is a "final rinse" or not.
Q: Is this High Efficiency or low efficiency washer?
A: The washer is not a high efficiency washer.
Q: what button to push for soaking before the wash sycle?
A: There isn't a button to push for soaking before the wash cycle. However, as the manual mentions, you can hit the start/cancel/pause button once the washer has filled the basin with water. Hitting the start/cancel/pause button once the basin has filled with water will give you any amount of time to let your garments "soak." If you pull up the washer door after hitting the start/cancel/pause button then you will only have 10 minutes to soak before the washer thinks you have abandoned the wash cycle and the washer will drain out the water and sit there until you restart the whole wash cycle again. I recommend starting your wash cycle as you normally would, then hitting the start/cancel/pause button (do not open the lid) once the basin has "filled", and let the clothes sit for the length of time you desire. After your clothes have soaked for a time, press the start/cancel/pause button to resume your previously selected wash cycle.
A: There is an attachment that you can order from Amana's website. I believe it's about $20. I'm using a Downy Ball that I picked up at the grocery store and I haven't had an issue.
A: This model Washer does not have a Soak cycle option. If you would like to manually soak your garments at any time during the wash portion of the cycle, press START/PAUSE/ UNLOCK LID and leave the lid closed. Once your desired soak time has elapsed, press START/PAUSE/UNLOCK LID again to continue the cycle. As long as the lid remains closed, your soak time can be longer than 10 minutes. However, if the lid is opened during the soak and remains open for more than 10 minutes, the water will pump out automatically.
A: It takes about an hour unlike my old fashioned one with took 30 min. One plus is the clothes feel softer. The matching dryer also takes the same amount of time to dry too.
Q: Is this washer large enough to easily wash queen size comforters?
A: Yes, the washer is large enough to wash a queen size comforter.
Q: Can the lid be open during the wash cycle like my old kenmore?
A: YOU CAN OPEN THE LID DURING THE WASH CYCLE BUT IT WILL STOP TEMPORARILY WHEN LID IS OPEN, BUT IT WILL CONTINUE THE WASH CYCLE AFTER LID IS CLOSED AGAIN. IT DOESN'T LOCK AFTER LID IS CLOSED WHICH I LIKE.
