Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i managed to fit it laying down in a very small honda fit. It works just fine now, no vibration or off track, and no leak on the floor. The unit on the bottom looks to be direct drive without gear oil, but i just glanced at it while unloading it, not fully took it apart as its working no need to. Anywho, with gears like the old fashion kind it wouldn't matter. It was a transfer case style (think 4x4 pickup) with gear oil in it. This isn't the type of thing that is like a refrigerator, where the peg oil leaks past the piston when not sitting in an upright position and then needs to be left alone for 3 days before being turned on to leak back down paste it.
