It can be used anywhere you have a sink to drain into - water goes down the drain and into the sewers!

So there are two water lines to connect (one for hot and one for cold) and a drain line. That drained line usually is made to either go out into your yard or down a sewer line. If you don't have two lines for water to connect to and a drain line, your home wasn't built to have a washer.
