A:AnswerSame situation here. It is a piece of crap and what a waste of money it was. Never in my life have I had a problem like this with any washer I have owned. GRRRRR
A:AnswerHi Court. This is a serious problem that I solved this morning. I don't know why Amana in its wisdom doesn't know that us hand washers of delicate things and wool sweaters need a spin-only cycle.
Here's what you do: With nothing in the washer, set the pointer to the "drain/spin" cycle and press the "START pause/UNLOCK LID" button. The "sensing fill" light will go on, but it soon gives up and turns off since there's no weight in the washer. The "final spin" light goes on. Press the START button to unlock the lid, open the lid, dump in your wet things, close the lid, press START again, et voila! After a thorough spin, the "cycle complete" light goes on, and there you are. I'm so happy this works!
A:AnswerI've thrown in two regular size bath towels and a load of clothes and it did fine. I've liked it so far no complaints about three weeks in with it. I couldn't stand the HE one we had.
A:AnswerI understand what you are asking and I have this exact washer. The washer will fill up with deep water for both the wash and rinse/rinses when you choose the deep water fill. The buttons and settings on this washer are different than any other machine I've ever owned, yet it's one of the best washing machines I've had. If you want the water to only auto sense on the rinse cycle/cycles you can turn knob to rinse/spin and hold down the button that starts the machine for at least 6 seconds so it will reset itself. If the wash cycle has not drained yet it will after you hold that button down. Then make sure your water level setting is set to auto sense when the tub has drained. After it all drains you press the start button and it will fill auto sensing the load amount which for that small amount wouldn't be much. That will agitate around for a while after it fills up then it'll spin out like a regular last rinse cycle or quick cycle if you want to call it that. Hope this helps.
