- Answer The water level is absolutely more than a 1/3 way up the tub. Another cycle is the auto sensing. It will be just over the height of the clothes.

I paid $19.99 this time but last year I paid $14.99 for a stove to be hauled away, so prices can vary if this service is offered. QuestionDoes the lid unlock when opened, or must I stop the entire cycle to balance the load? I will never own another washer that I cannot open the lid if necessary.

- Answer This washer does have a lid lock, but you can pause it to open the lid. Also it has a load sensing setting that allows it to adjust on its own. Does a good job washing for a low cost machine. It is a bit noisy though.

- Answer My understanding is that all washers now come with sensors and only fill water to the level of your clothes. There is an option for deep water wash and rinse. That allows for a higher level of water.

- Answer no it does not require specific detergent but is suitable for HE detergent if you choose. It comes with some Tide pods samples and they work just fine.

Ft. 8-Cycle Top-Loading Washer, During the final rinse, wait until the washer has completed filling, press START/STOP/PAUSE/UNLOCK LID to pause the washer. Lift the lid and add the measured recommended amount of liquid fabric softener. If using Oxi-type boosters, color-safe bleach, or fabric softener crystals, add to the bottom of the washer basket before adding clothes
