The Zepp App should stay and improve as years go by.
A:AnswerShort answer is yes, I had no problems connecting once the Zepp app was installed. But I did get the Amazfit Bip 6 at the same time I got the band 7. Though I liked the simplicity and battery life of the band 7, I ended up keeping the 6 because of the extra features and display real estate. I use it for tracking a bunch of stuff and use the flashlight feature and still lasts 5 to 7 days with my usage. I charge it in the car while I'm driving to work when it reaches 20% or so. I had two samsung watches that I had to charge everyday. Don't miss them at all. I only had the watch for about three months thus far but have had no issues as of yet.

A:AnswerNot sure about wearing it on the ankle. I have secured it on the top of my shoe between the laces and wore while I was riding my recumbent bike. It did record steps, but not sure of accuracy.
