• I just measured, and it's 55.5 inches from the outside part of each stand leg. They're rather pointed, so you wouldn't be able to fudge it at all. The smallest table I would be comfortable putting this on would be 58".

• It would be touch-and-go. I did a quick measure of the mounting points and it's roughly 48 inches, and the legs cant outward from the mounting points. But do like I did and invest around $40 and buy a swiveling pedestal mount. All problems solved.
