It works with 5G, but if you have it linked/paired with Amazon Echo or Alexa devices using wi-fi, then they all need to be on the same network and band. In other words, if you have at least 1 2.4ghz device connected or paired with the TV using wi-fi (not bluetooth) then you should use 2.4ghz (or upgrade the slower device). This will avoid any related issue.
