  • QuestionCan more than one remote be set up with my Amazon Fire TV? I thought the old as was broken. When I reset my TV the old remote all of a sudden it was working. But I cannot set the new one to work . The new remote is the same one

If the new remote is not pairing here are some steps to pair your Fire TV remote with your device: -If your remote doesn't pair automatically, press the Home button until "Press Play/Pause to start" appears on-screen (about 10 seconds). -Move your remote closer to your Fire TV device, within 10 ft (3 m). -Remove the batteries from your remote. Wait 30 seconds and then press and hold the Home button again. -Reset your Fire TV remote. I hope that helps! Have a great day!

    • Answer Hi Rose! This is actually just a replacement remote for an existing Fire TV Stick, but all Fire TV Sticks DO require WiFi to operate. If you have access to wired internet, adapters are available to let you connect a Fire TV Stick via ethernet. Alternatively, the Fire TV Cube has a built-in ethernet port for easy wired access. If you are using one of these devices, you may be able to use the Equipment Control feature to control your FiOS box as well. To access Equipment Control: Go to Settings on your Fire TV. Select Equipment Control. Select Manage Equipment. Note: Select Advanced Settings on this screen to activate or deactivate Automated Device Discovery.     • Answer Hi Bluegill, thank you for reaching out. I would recommend unplugging and plugging the TV back in, then holding the Home button for at least 10 seconds. If this does not work, you can try pairing via the Fire TV app on your mobile device. To do this, please follow these steps: Turn on your TV. Turn on your Fire TV device. Put new batteries in your Alexa Voice Remote. Bring your remote to within 10 feet of your Fire TV device. Unplug your Fire TV device from its power source. Plug the Fire TV device back into its power source. Open up the Fire TV app on your mobile device. Hopefully this helps. Have a great day!

The remote can be programed through the Fire Stick settings to work with most TV brands and uses an IR signal to communicate with the TV.
