No. They work independently. I have three of them in my house. The only thing that they work together on is if two devices hear you, it can tell which one you are closest to and will use that one via default.

No, Alex is a voice assistant and won't allow you to do two way intercom communication.

Not this generation. As a matter of fact, I told my wife last week that THAT very thing would be a fantastic update to the next gen Echo/Dot.
