I think so. The phine is really just for set up and settings. It doesn't need to be on or nearby for the dot to work once it's set up.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Echo Dot for the most part is self contained and should be able to do 90% of what's asked of it within its limits. The app is for setting up many other products and to check messages and notifications that's at least 24 hrs old. Everything else is done from speakers
