Prime Music is included with your Amazon Prime membership at no additional cost. So yes need Prime Account or Amazone Music. It depends on the song. Most Songs available free may be sung by diff singer or in diff version. Depends many other factors. And If its trending songs, u listening everyday but as soon as that songs come under amazon music prime songs by their policy it will not play by Alexa, and notify u your account is not configured for it. If you google on amazon music fr that song u will see now we have to purchase. But its really good to use except only for songs.

Just so you know - it is $3.99 for just that Echo - if you want it on additional devices, you will have to pay more. Also, the Echo has much better speakers than the Dot, so it is worth it for $3.99 - which is not one of Amazon Prime's benefits. Don't know why they don't advertise this.
