Do you a bridge with this echo? For lightbulbs? null

I purchased four additional bulbs for additional convenience and security around the home. The sales rep at Best Buy said a bridge would not be necessary, and he was correct! The bulbs work fine, you just need to add them to your Alexa app on your phone! Not sure if a bridge is needed with other accessories! Bulbs work fine with both our original Alexa Plus Gen2 and the Echo Dot Gen3.

Not if your lights don't require it. I use Lifx that don't need a bridge--nor do any of my devices (the Dot is the bridge).

If you purchase a Hue light bulb, you need a hub. However, you can buy a smart plug and have your lamp or anything else you want connected to it.

I have hue bulbs. They came with a bridge. The bulbs talk to the bridge and the bridge talkes to the dot.... Kinda like an interpreter for tech. Hope this helps
