• The Echo Dot is Alexa...they are one and the same. By buying the Dot and giving it access to your internet, you now have access to Alexa via the Dot.

• The dot "is" Alexa. I mean, all you need is an Amazon account and when you buy any of these products, (echo dot, amazon echo, echo input, echo flex, echo car, etc), you get Alexa "in them". You don't need to install anything extra or pay extra to get "Alexa"

• I've had mine about a month, and from what I've seen it's just hook up to your internet and go. Saying "hey, Alexa" to activate took a little to get used to, but I'm about a 2 on a scale of 1-10 with tech stuff.
