• All we do is say her name and she comes on...when we are done with listening to the radio etc we just tell her to stop and she does.

• Not sure what you mean but I just say Alexa and pause a second. Then I just say what I want. I don’t wait for her to say anything to me first. Hope this helps.

• The device is updating. Mine does this on occasion, My daughter was yelling at it for a while.

• There’s never a reason or need to “shut down” the unit. If you really must however just unplug the device! The device doesn’t ever shutdown on command anyway

• If it's flashing orange...say "Alexa give me my notifications please". If it's flashing green it didn't understand your direction.
