Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used Pandora Radio, I love the smooth transition to any type of music I ask for. Also the Echo Dot is very compatible with Amazon Radio (which is free for one month) then I think it cost about $5.99 a month. I didn't have to download anything but I subscribe to Pandora on my phone. It connects thru Bluetooth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to have the app to set it up the echo. But afterwards you can control it with your voice.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe the app is necessary to set up the Echo. You can once you set up the device using the app listen to music that streams via the internet. Free internet streaming does not require subscriptions, for example Your Classical Lullabies via Minnesota Public Radio, yourclassical.org. There are many of these available for varied music interests. Other days I want to hear Frank Sinatra, or the Beatles or the Standards—and at times multiple other genres. I just ask Alexa to play the artist I want to hear. What I like most is the convenience. If you want better sound you need to get a bit larger device. The Echo works well for me in my office.
