“Can I use the new Show 10" without the overly large (and useless) base? The base makes it too tall and too large front to back for my purposes. BTW the 8 is too small and the 15 too large for my needs.”

Hello and thank you for asking this question. The touch screen on the Echo Show 10 can not detach from the base which houses the speakers. I might recommend a Fire Tablet instead if you are looking for all the Alexa functionality without the bulk of the speakers. I hope this answers your question and that you have a great day.
