I never shut mine off. If power goes out it reboots by itself. Return it for replacement

Unplug the device, let it sit for 10-15 seconds and plug it back in 2. Reset your device by holding down the "Mute" and Volume Down buttons for about 15 seconds 3. Try a different outlet to see if that is the cause If none of that works, I would suggest reaching out to Amazon customer support so they can talk with you and better help you out.
