Hello BobA and thank you so much for your question regarding the new Fire HD10! The device uses the built in Amazon Silk web browser. So yes, you could access AOL via the web browser. There is also an available AOL app you could download from the Appstore that gives access to your AOL news, mail, and videos. As for the display being suitable for indoor and outdoor viewing, you are able to adjust the brightness level to accommodate your environment allowing you to view it in multiple settings.
