Yes i did get Fire OS update 4.5.5 for this tablet.

There is a contact button if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Amazon app or webpage. One of the options is for phone support.

You can set it to update automatically. It will then update next time you connect to a wifi source. Only connect when you need to , to extend battery life.

I can't address the phone support as I've not had the need to contact them.
As for the updates... they come to the device via internet connection over the WiFi built into the system.

Yes! Make sure you keep Kindle number in your cell phone which you can access 24 hrs. Not sure about updates item still new however previous Kindle were updated by amazon due to connection with e-mail
