You need to be connected to WiFi then you can download any Amazon e-book.

Make an Amazon account then you can download the free books. On my girlfriends, I used a gift card that only had 2 cents left on it. If you decide to buy then you will need a card with at least enough to cover it. There are so many books that she never has to buy one and she reads almost daily.
