Amazon offer two versions, one with ad while another does not. But you can root the ad version and remove the ad. It is pretty easy if you don't mind spend some time.

Yes, if you look on Amazon you'll see that they have the non special offer version available for $15 more. You can sign into Amazon from the device and have them shut offv for $15 after you purchase the device.
