The unit always comes with Ads Locked when buying from Best Buy. Once you receive it you can message amazon customer service to remove it for free. That’s what I did

All of the Fire Tablets sold through Best Buy will come with lock screen ads, however you can easily remove them for a one time fee once you've registered them to your account. Once you've registered your account, log in to your Amazon account and follow these steps: 1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices. 2. Select Devices, and then select your device. 3. Under Special Offers, click Remove offers. A pop-up window then displays the price to remove special offers. Select End Offers and Pay the Fee to proceed. The fee is based on the device but is the same as you had purchased a version with the Special Offers removed. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
