IF YOU PAY FOR HULU LIVE YOU CAN RECORD SHOWS MOVIES ETC. TO WATCH THEM LATER. Other apps may also have this feature. For example With hulu live you can watch your local channels and tv shows or record them also to watch later. You can also setup and record different channels while you are watching another. You use this device to stream content, whatever it may be, to the screen of your choice - screen = device. You just figure out what you want to watch and who delivers it... and how and when they deliver it. Live? Maybe, maybe not. It's far superior functionality, but you have to figure out who gives you what you want to see & how much that costs. Then there are the bells and whistles. Talking to stuff that shouldn't be listening, that's up to you. If getting up to change the channel seems like harsh labor and a remote control is tedious, by all means chat it up with Alexa.
