• technically any wifi will work but this is a 4k streaming device so using it will use tons of data and not stream very fast on a hotspot. It may also have problems if the wifi is constantly turning on and off as you leave and come back.

• Yes u do need internet u should be able to run it from your hotspot but I’m not sure if a hotspot can handle the bandwidth. I tested mine on WiFi in my theater room which is where my 4K fire stick is and it works great no buffering at any point but I’m running over 75 mbps on WiFi and 85 or better hardwired so in my living room I have it hardwired.
