• This would work independently from the other devices you already have connected. This would connect to an additional HDMI port on your TV. You would still use your OTA for local channels. Then switch to the HDMI that has the stick to use it.

• One option would be to plug the Fire TV Stick in an open HDMI port on your TV and then use the TV to select that input when you wish to watch from it. That's pretty much the standard configuration for the Fire TV Stick.
