There is no cost per month after buying the device. The only cost per month is for the viewing services such as Netflix, Hulu, WWE Network, Amazon, etc.

I had gotten rid of my cable and it has been over three months now. I also have two children and they haven't asked for the cable to be back on. All you need is WIFI
