Because your smart TV doesn't allow you to install 3rd party apps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends. If the apps on your TV serve your needs than you don't need any other streaming device. However, if you want Amazon Prime Video or want to Run streaming services like Kodi or Terrarium TV then you do need a Fire TV or Stick.

And if you would want it to be for Amazon Movies, Netflix, Hulu and other apps it can be accessed with by voice. This part I enjoyed, but the fact that I do not have cable, but a regular antenna to get local stations, it did not work for the local stations, which I actually watch more of than I do the subscription services forementioned.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mainly cause all if not most apps like DIrectv Now, Playstation Vue is not on smart tv's. I have an Lg 4k hdr and a Samsung 4k hdr smart tv, and it's missing some of the apps you need to cut cable. Unfortunately I wouldn't get the new Amazon Fire Tv cause it buffers a lot, it's better of getting the new Roku stick or the Apple 4k tv depends on your preference.
