When I registered my new Kindle, it picked up all the books, read and unread, on my old device. I think that as long as you register everything under the same account, the library appears on all devices.

I just purchased a new Kindle for the hubs; he had several of his books downloaded including a new one. When I started up the Kindle I signed in under my acct. and voila! Books appeared!
