It comes with a protective cover, the Kids+ subscription, and the worry-free replacement guarantee. The kids mode is locked off from the regular Kindle store, so kids won’t see titles geared towards adults. But they can download anything for their age group for free. You can exit kids mode with a parent PIN, and then it functions just like a regular Kindle Paperwhite.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The kids version is the exact same device as the adults version. The only difference is that it comes with the kids mode enabled by default, which simplifies the operating system and allows you to limit and control the content on the device. This can be completely disabled or switched on and off whenever you want. It also comes with a 2 year warranty instead of 1 year, a case, and a 1 year subscription to the Kids+ service. Depending on the price difference, especially if it's on sale, the kids version is often the better deal.
