“I am having trouble getting my Kindle to display the book I'm reading. When I open the case I get the "swipe to unlock Kindle" message. I do so and the book I'm currently reading shows and the upper right corner of the cover show 7% but won't open”

Not sure because I'm new to Kindle. I have a PaperWhite Signature Edition--I believe you have to set this in the settings. You can choose for the book to open to the last page read or to the beginning and then you scroll to find where you left off.
