If your wi fi is close enough it should work.

That will depend on your WiFi strength and also what band your WiFi is on. I'm using one of these that is about 60 feet away with no problem.

The Smart Plug must be within usable range of your wireless router. The Alexa device (Dot, etc.) communicates with the IoT device through your wireless network. It does not communicate directly with the Smart Plug. Other IoT devices that use an external hub might work differently. 100 feet might be a stretch for the typical wireless router.

It depends on your WiFi's range. If your wifi can reliably reach that far without drops or disconnects it should be fine, it might react slower though.

Yes you can. Everything is done with an app on your phone or through Alexa. I can be at work and use the app to turn on my lights in the house. Hope this helps.
