“Can I plug my smart plug into a power strip or do I have to plug it into a main outlet?”

All mine are on power strip. They all work fine

Yes! Since these are Wi-Fi (radio) controlled and not controlled via power-line communication network - like (X-10) which signals can be filtered out by surge strips. I have mine plugged in back of my smart battery backup - which also has built-in surge protection.

Because of the size of the smart plug, it is best suited for a direct connection to an outlet. However, it should work to a power strip, but it will take up multiple spots on the power strip.

Yes, my bedroom 1 is set up that way!! My surge protector is a Monster screw into the outlet plug unit, I use for an old Antique Glass night light!!
