Yes as far as multi tasking etc. You may see a slight advantage for an intel chipset in gaming environments, although this CPU is amazing for that as well and difference would be miniscule.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hmm, it depends on what you want. The differences being that the R7 2700X has 16MB cache, hyper-threading(double the threads to core count(16 threads)), 3.7 GHz base with boost clock of 4.3 GHz; while, the Intel Core i7- 9700K has only 12 MB cache, no hyper threading meaning only 8 threads to core count, 3.6 GHz base clock with boost clock of 4.9 GHz. Of course both are Octa-core processors and the clock speeds may vary by silicon quality; therefore, the Intel Core i7-9700K would indeed perform better for some games; however, the Ryzen 7 2700K is the better price to performance as you’d have to pay an extra $120 for that little performance boost you’d see with the Intel core-i7 9700K which can probably be evened out a little by a solid thermal solution like Grizzly Kryonaut thermal compound and decent water cooling with the Ryzen 7 2700X. At the end of the day it’s your decision if you want to spend that extra $120 for a minimal performance boost or put that extra $120 somewhere else: other computer components. ;D
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can get one, absolutely. It's close to half the price, and does the job just as well. You won't overclock it to 5.0, but you don't need to
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Honestly with the price going down on these, definitely go with this over the 9700k.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want the computer now get it. If you can be patient and save get the intel. Top tier intel products last you for many years before upgrading. You’re aren’t missing much if you choose ryzen, though. Benchmarks show the ryzen is not that far off with performance for gaming or content creation. I’ve got one recently and I’m loving it. It’s paired with a GeForce 1080 Founders Edition and I’m playing my games at max settings at 2K resolution.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want incomparable performance and a higher price with a chance of overheating problems, go for the 9700K. If you want almost comparable performance, a better price, the same core count, and don't want to spend more money on a heatsink or water cooler, go for the 2700X. The 3700X has also been released witch is now AMD's most powerful processor, but for people who already have a B350, B450, or X370 motherboard this is a better upgrade. Keep in mind that if you are upgrading from a previous Ryzen 1000 series or 2000 series processor, you may have to update your BIOS. USE FAST RAM (3000 MHz or faster).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've always favored AMD since they've always offered more bang for your buck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.to be honest no.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say performance to cost that the AMD Ryzen 7 is the better option. The I7 may have a higher multi-core benchmark over the Ryzen, which may be important to some people wanting to flaunt numbers over visible performance. With the minute difference the cost savings is more important in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you intend to use it for only gaming, intel is the way to go, but if you want to use it for rendering videos.. etc. go with a RyZEN
