The only difference is the case. The earbuds are exactly the same (same noise cancelling, same incredible microphone, same design and comfort, same battery life, same voice command support; everything about the earbuds themselves is the same); it's just the case that is different. The case on the regular Liberty 5 Pro has a small display on the front with some functionality and controls. For $60 more, the Liberty 5 Pro Max adds a full screen touch screen with customizable wallpaper and a built-in voice recorder that can record anything and generate notes and summaries of the conversation. Personally, I think the Liberty 5 Pro Max is worth the extra $60. The AMOLED display on the case is great and I love being able to put a picture of family on the case and use it like a digital picture frame.
