• The trick is to know which direction your local station signals are coming from. If you point it in the general direction initially, adjustments should not be necessary. But yes, if it needs to be pointed differently, someone will need to climb up there to rotate it left or right

• The brackets on the back allow you to change the direction the antenna faces to fine tune but only needs to be set once and then just run your scanner from inside.
