Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Clearstream 2Max OTA Antenna

I bought the Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Clear stream 2Max OTA Antenna just to test it as an outdoor antenna. There was no doubt in my mind that it would not work as well as I wanted it to, and that I would return it. So I put it on my roof but did not mount it down and pretty much got the same channels I was getting before. I went back and adjusted the antenna slightly in another direction, rescanned the channels again and WOW!, I could not believe it, my channel line up went from 29 channels to 44 clear channels with no pixels. the digital indicator on my Yamaha 6.1 receiver indicated digital source and the picture and surround sound is incredible. Grant it , it is still Winter and the leaves are not on the thousand trees I have in my back yard, but right now everything is great. I am getting channels 60 + miles away. This Clear stream 2Max OTA Antenna for me is a keeper.

This antenna is very easy to hook-up right out of the box. Pulls in a great signal with better picture quality than the local cable company provided. It’s sitting on an end table in front of a large bow window. I have it positioned facing the towers in my area which are about 10 miles away. I returned the first antenna I purchased @ Best Buy. It had a built in amplifier and performed less than satisfactory.I Should have saved myself the inconvenience and bought the Clearstream 2 Max from the beginning. I get all the local channels and then some!

Yeah I didn't want to spend a lot of money, though buying this was well worth it. I no more than took it out of the box fastened the coaxial cable to the TV and to the antenna. Pulled up the arms, and set it/ wedged it a spot on a shelf. Turned on the TV/ settings/auto scan channels. Boom, double the channels of my previous flat leaf antenna. Boom Boom, all of them had picture/sound and of quality. I can say that I am in a third floor apartment, and have had trouble with a few different antennas this one is excellent right out of the gate. Also it's inside, though close to and outside wall. Now I will just need to fine tune a more fixed and permanent placement for it.

I've been a cord cutter for more than a decade and dealt with the vagaries of a changing skyline around us and unpredictable weather. Living in lower Manhattan, the issue isn't signal strength but rather multi-path signals from reflections off all the buildings around us. In the days before digital TV, that meant severe ghosting and a picture that was unwatchable. With today's digital TV, the picture is either perfect or not there at all, and even with transmissions from only a few miles away, a rain shower can cause the picture to break up.
We can receive some 50 channels, but ever since the new World Trade Center was completed, half of them are broadcast from there with the other half from the Empire State Building, 90 degrees in the other direction. Living inside a steel-frame building, no single indoor antenna could capture all stations from both directions. Using a so-called omni-directional antenna or combining multiple indoor antennas actually made the problem significantly worse, and amplifying the signal made no difference at all. An amplified bad signal is still a bad signal.
After reading many reviews, we decided on this antenna. It claims to pull in stations from 60 miles away, but that was not an issue for us. We just needed to be able to pull in stations from several city blocks away. Most outdoor antennas, however, are highly directional and cannot handle the off-axis signals that predominate in New York. Although directional, the ClearStream 2MAX has one of the best off-axis signal capture profiles of any antenna on the market. In theory, aiming it between the two transmitters should still yield a usable signal. In actual practice, our first attempt was a complete bust. With the antenna mounted directly over one of the building's largest steel support beams, there was no usable signal at all. With a longer cable and by mounting the antenna directly to the railing of our terrace, the reception was perfect.
For the first time since we cut the cord some 12 years ago, we are able to pull in all stations in all kinds of weather, without fail. This is a very large antenna but when it comes to pulling in a stable digital signal, size really does matter.
Pros: Excellent signal quality, multiple mounting options, easy to position.
Cons: Large and unwieldy, does not come with cable, which the user must supply, no options or instructions for proper grounding - the user must supply their own grounding block and look up instructions for use on their own.

Installed this in my attic and it works great. I get so many channels, all of the major networks so I can watch NBA playoffs. I’m in the valley in Los Angeles. The picture is super clear on most channels, I’m really impressed.
If you’re getting this do yourself a favor and mount it high! Either in the attic or outside attached to the roof. Makes all the difference.

I have tried other antennas and had no luck with pointing and receiving all the channels in my area. Sometimes they were there and then they weren't. No matter how much i tried adjusting the antenna, I just couldn't get all the channels I should have been receiving. But with this antenna I didn't really even have to point it. I just roughly faced it towards the known location in Tampa and got all the channels perfectly. I am getting even more channels than expected, Scanned 65 channels in total on my first scan.

This is a review of the Clearstream 2MAX Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna – with 60+ mile range. I tested the antenna in all four rooms to find the room with the best reception. My next step was to drill holes between the rooms. Finally, using RG6 coaxial cable and 2-way coax Splitters – I was able to link all four of my TV’s to the one Antenna which was located in the middle of the house. I ran the antenna channel finder on each TV and was able to pull in 22 channels. These are the channels that I listed in my Favorites. I actually ended up with two additional channels that were not in the Cable Basic package and as you can see the reception is excellent. I hope this has been beneficial

I was looking for an antenna that would pick up channels of the 2 major markets that I live inbetween. Of 137 channels I now receive 132! Be sure to point the antenna toward the towers in your area for the best clear picture. I put mine in the attic to reduce the amount of obstructions. Very happy with this purchase.

Works great in a basement in Chicago. It gets some distortion if you stand near it or move it. I have it mounted inside, near a window that no one will be near. I may mount to the exterior in the future but it works great where it is. It comes with an indoor stand, and an exterior mounting bracket. One important thing to note: it does not come with a coaxial cable that you 100% need to hook it up. At this price, it was a disappointment and caused me to make a second trip to the store. But now I have local access to watch Da Bears games with great clarity on my Samsung QLED. Subtracted 1 star for the lack of included cable.

I was surprised with reception & picture quality!
I am able to get over 40 local channels. (Only watch 4 for local news)
I did end up putting the antenna in my attic, and ran the wire through the interior wall where the TV hangs on. Took a little bit of time, but looks like a pro’s have installed it.

I live next to power lines and I never could get very good reception with several other indoor antennas but this one is terrific. I get over 38 stations and I never have to worry about bad weather moving in to prevent me from watching the news.

I purchased this product to receive clearer channels and not have to pay for cable. I currently live in an apartment. As you can see, from the photo, you can barely tell that it's set up. The installation was quick and easy. I spent more time with cable management inside, than I did with the outside portion. I was able to receive 72 channels as most of the antennas are in a 35-mile range.
The only time I encounter an issue, with reception, is when I open and close the door (based on cable management). I rarely go outside so it's not an imposition for me. Maybe I can find something to block the signal from fading when I open/close the door, but again, I rarely go outside.
Good buy!

A Great Antenna-ClearStream 2Max

I live in the City of Lansing MI and I have Direct TV (ATT) which stops working when bad weather occurs. I bought a flat panel antenna but it did not pick up all the stations and reception was spotty. I bought a larger flat panel amplified antenna, same result. I did lots of research on indoor antennas. The ClearStream 2 MAX had good reviews from several sources, so I bought it with the understanding I could return it to the store. I mounted it inside on a wall that should be the worst location in my house...but it worked!!! We can now easily switch between Direct TV and antenna input. I added 2 semi-circle disks at bottom to hide the mounting bracket ( cheap black plastic putty knives with handles cut off). I call it my functional modern art piece. I highly recommend this antenna.

I have experimented with a few OTA antennas, and this one by far is the best I’ve ever experienced! Gets over 50 clear channels! I didn’t even have to mount on my roof. I mounted right outside my window seal. I’m sure mounting on the roof would bring even more fortune! This is a 5 star winner in my book.

FINALLY...an antenna that I didn't cuss and return! No blinks/hangs on the critical channels and more with this one. Had tried over some time five other models; yes, indeed were smaller ant's. However, bit the bullet and supersized my "burger." Your results may vary, but mine for sure are all stars. Details are that this unit is operating in den that is a remodeled block-wall garage. Would have mounted on roof, but cable path would have been difficult. Used a "Winegard LNA-100 Amplifier" ($30) with ant' to help BTW. All in all reception is colorful and happy now!

I installed the ClearStream 2 MAX antenna in my attic with a 4 way amplified splitter in my basement. I receive 43 good clear channels on 4 televisions without ever moving the antenna. I also use a stand alone DVR with its own built in splitter (RV in and RV out) which has it's own tuner for recording any of the 43 channels. This antenna is connected to 5 different television tuners counting the DVR. I can record one channel while watching another at the same time. I couldn't be happier with this antenna and its performance.

Thought this didn't work at first, but when the technician came to install my Blink cameras, he suggested outside hang, because of metal roof. Oh my, what a difference, clear pictures and even more channels from when it was inside. Good Buy. Now my mother wants one in her guest room. Now when I go to our cabin I can kick back and watch tv. Blink cameras are also a good purchase.

I drilled a hole in my wall to run the cable through and hung antenna in my garage about 6 feet off the ground. It works great. It pulled in approximately 30 stations, the previous flat style antenna only pulled in about three or four. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend.

I purchased this antenna for a bedroom. It’s working very efficiently. Previously I was frustrated with the couple channels I was getting with another brand of antenna. The channels used to bleep out whenever a car went by. With this antenna I have no problems with bleeping out and I get several additional channels. Very satisfied with this antenna.
