The answer is maybe it depends on your location and terrain of your area my suggestion is to give it a rough set up before you start drilling holes and stuff and see how it works if you like it then do full set up hope this helps

I literally climbed the attic stairs and sat the antenna on a AC trunk line, pointed it towards New Orleans and then ran a channel scan. I’m in Diamondhead, MS. Received 62 channels! We couldn’t possibly have asked for more. It far exceeded our expectations. I do not have a foil type radiant barrier on the roof deck. If we did, I wouldn’t expect the same results.
