• I haven't had the same issue. I would check your cable connections and make sure be they are tighten appropriately. It sounds like you may have e loose connection.

• Depends on several factors. This is a directional antenna. It needs to point at the center of the stations you want to receive. Use an app such as Antenna Point to determine where to point the antenna. Also, you might try an inexpensive signal amplifier.
