The reason I ask is because until 2009, TV manufacturers didn't include a TV tuner in the TVs. Look on the front and back of your TV set for a sticker or marking that mentions a digital tuner. It may say something like “DTV,” “HDTV,” “ATSC,” “Digital Tuner,” “Digital Receiver,” “Integrated Digital Tuner,” or “Digital Tuner Built In. If the TV doesn't have this marking, then you will need a converter box for the Dynex TV that didn't find digital TV channels when you performed a scan.
