• It works better on a taller pole. If your dish mount is on top of your house, you'll get great reception and all available channels

• I you have enough room for it to clear your roof the Direct TV mount should be fine. I have mine pointing in two different directions. Our stations are spread out North and northwest. I pick up 47 channels from around 60 miles away.
