This hasn't happened to us with this particular (newly purchased) model, but we have a similar one hooked up to our modem and router (don't forget the router if it's separate) and we can go an hour or more with full internet if power goes out. Also keeps the modem/router from rebooting every time there's a minor power glitch.

Please try again later.In order for you to have continuous power (after the power go out), you need to connect the device to one of the plugs that identify UPS ( uninterrupted power supply ). I would suggest that go online and connect with APC. They are very helpful. They will answer all of your questions much better than I can. The UPS (uninterrupted power supply) comes with a cable to be connected to your PC. You can download a program that will tell you exactly how much how much longer your battery back up will last.
