I would not recommend this for that purpose at all.

You may want to check with the home security system manufacture to see how much power it would draw. Sometimes the information is listed in the manual. The unit will support 360 watts of equipment connected to it. At full load (360 watts), you would get 2 minutes of runtime. At half load (180 watts), you would get around 10 minutes of runtime.
