You are correct I found out the same thing and ended up making my purchase from best buy. I will recycle the old APC unit. The newer unit is energy saver and weighs 1/4 of the weight than the old unit.

The prices can be different if you were to purchase the unit from one of our resellers like Best Buy since we do not set their prices. If you compared the prices of the TradeUPS to our retail price on our website they will be cheaper. This doesn't mean that you couldn't find the unit cheaper at one of our resellers like Best Buy though. The TradeUPS program would just provide you with the convenience of a return label to send the old UPS in for recycling. You are welcome to purchase the unit through Best Buy if you like. You would just need to recycle the old UPS at your local recycling center.
